Eunice Raphael

Eunice Raphael

Eunice Ruth Marion Raphael Weber
February 25, 1950 - September 2, 2011
Eunice lost her battle with lung cancer September 2, 2011. She is survived by her husband of 31 years, Steven Weber; her two brothers, Earl & Edgar Raphael; her daughter, Erin Lazaro; and her two grandsons, Ethan and Ean Lazaro.

She was an avid gardener and dog lover (she brought home a few strays). Family and friends loved to visit Eunice not only for her company but her culinary skills as well. She was a very accomplished chef & loved to cook. She wasn't afraid try new things, from homemade pasta to making her own sushi. You could find the family gathered around her in the kitchen every Sunday.

Her pride and joy was her two grandsons. She loved being the doting grandma. Their favorite memories were spending weekends with grandma cooking & gardening. She was a big influence in their lives.

She touched many and is missed by all.

I am deeply saddened to hear of Eunice's passing.  We were childhood friends,  living just a few houses away , she on Monroe and me on Willis St.  I have many fond memories of playing at her house, spending the night and even attending a Passover Seder with her family.  The last time I saw Eunice was shortly after our first semester in college.  I wish we had kept in touch.  I would love to hear from her brothers or Erin, her daughter.  Thank you Erin for sharing a glimpse of Eunice's life with us.  She and her whole family left an impression on my life.   My sincere sympathy to you and your family.

I am so sorry to hear of Eunice's untimely passing.  Eunice was a dear friend of mine since those memorable years attending Ocean Avenue school all the way through NHS.  We continued our friendship through her early marriage to John Robertson, before she moved to Jacksonville, FL and gave birth to daughter Erin.

I lost track of Eunice when she moved to Tamarac, FL, but saw her once while she was attending a conference in NYC at least over 20 years ago.

Eunice, you will always be an important part of my wonderful Northport friendship memories. Erin, if your interested, I have some early photos of your Mom and you as a baby.  Contact me if interested.

Warm regards.

Sandra Clark
